“Capital ‘P’ Political” is a central facet of who I am as a Palestinian-Jordanian American. My friends often joke that I have a talent for turning any conversation into an impassioned lecture about Palestine or the Middle East. This is, for better or for worse, quite true. Since graduating from Bard College in 2018 with a BA in Anthropology and a Concentration in Middle Eastern Studies, I have conducted anthropological field research on Arabic-speaking refugees in Greece and Connecticut. Volunteer activism is inextricably tied to my research and approach to life. In my spare time, I love to snack, lift heavy weights, and go on short walks with my lazy pup: Abu Sarami.
