Dana Slayton | دانة سليتن
Marhaba! My name is Dana Slayton, and I'm currently a Cornell University junior studying Arabic linguistics and pedagogy. I have been in love with the Arabic language since I was fourteen — it was love at first letter, so to speak — and I hope to be an Arabic teacher for children once I graduate. Currently, my research focuses on the communication of sociolinguistic attitudes through dialect practice in the Arabic classroom. As a musician and songwriter myself, I am so excited to be a facilitator for the Yallah al-Quds "Adventures in Music" course! You can usually find me somewhere in Washington, humming Sudanese music to myself and drinking coffee. I can't wait to meet you!
